Cost and Budgeting for Cebu
Cebu City is expensive when compared to the rest of the island but once outside the city, prices drop dramatically. Typically, a budget room starts at 600 pesos while a moderate room is about 1000 pesos. Meals can be found as cheap as 100 pesos. Restaurant staff will generally expect a tip, even if there is a service charge included. If you’re catching a taxi with a working meter, round up the amount. When shopping, especially in markets, the fine art of haggling is practiced. Though not as cheap as some other islands, Cebu is certainly not a budget buster.
