Fernando de Noronha Culture

The only inhabited part of the archipelago of Fernando de Noronha is the largest island in the Vila dos Remedios. The population of Fernando de Noronha is famous for being warm and very welcoming. Part of the population are descendants of jailers and ex-inmates as the island was once a maximum-security prison. The overall culture is similar to that of mainland Brazil- relaxed, happy, festive, and fun.
